Dr Drews graduated in 2005 from the prestigious University of Mainz, Germany, and completed his PhD allowing him the title of Dr.med.dent. the following year.

He has since furthered his career by uniquely combining most aspects of modern and traditional dentistry, allowing him to pick and choose treatment options for his patients with a deep insight into all the specialities available in dentistry. He is able to offer high quality full mouth restorative dentistry, with or without dental implants. If implant placement is not the patient’s preference, or the risk of surgery outweighs the benefit, he has offered a combination prosthesis using telescopic crowns (or German Crowns), the gold standard treatment in Germany prior to dental implants and still could offer an advantage in some cases.

Dr Drews is a strong believer in quality over quantity. He has chosen to only use products where he would be happy to use such products on himself or his family. As such he uses Straumann and ASTRA dental implants, two of the top five brands of dental implants globally, which are supported by many years of scientific research evidence. For the same reason he is an Invisalign® provider with more than 10-years experience and only uses Invisalign aligners® for his orthodontic treatments, including his own. Crown and bridgework is sent to a trusted dental laboratory who reliably produce high quality work every time.

Dr Drews travels internationally to gather the best information available from courses and dental conventions. He is a member of the British Dental Association (BDA), German Dental Association (FVDZ), and the International Team of Implantology (ITI).

ZOE BROWN

Zoe initially studied Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Glasgow where she graduated with a BSc (Hons) in 2010. In 2011 she moved to the South West of England to study Dentistry at Peninsula Dental School, graduating in 2015. After completing her Vocational Training year in Aberdeen, she moved back home to Edinburgh where she worked in a busy mixed NHS and private practice. Zoe joined Edinburgh Gums and Teeth full-time in January 2020.

Zoe enjoys all aspects of general dentistry but has developed a particular interest in occlusion and restorative treatments. She has also completed advanced training in facial aesthetics and is an Invisalign provider.

Outside of work she enjoys running, reformer pilates, cooking and socialising with friends.

KAREN BEVERIDGE

I joined dentistry working as a dental nurse in 2009 and, during this time, I became very interested in the treatment of periodontal disease when I was working with a dental hygienist. I then continued and trained as a hygienist in Bristol Dental School understanding the importance of preventive care and the value of the support and guidance we offer as hygienists.

I worked I Bristol for a couple of years before returning to Scotland and joined the team at Edinburgh gums and teeth in March 2021.

Outside of work my interests include cycling, running and weight training

NATALIE FITZPATRICK

Natalie began her dental career in 2008 working as a dental nurse in a mixed NHS and private dental practice in Ayr, Ayrshire.
In 2011 she moved East to study at The University of Edinburgh and completed her Bachelors degree with honours in 2015.
Natalie has been working as a Dental Therapist and fulfilling the role of Dental Hygienist at a number of practices throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians ever since. She joined the team at Gums and Teeth in 2023.
She enjoys working to her full capacity here within the practice with Guilded Biofilm Therapy, Zoom In-house Tooth Whitening and Oral Hygiene Instruction.
In her spare time she enjoys treadmill and spin classes as well as time spent with her fiance and mini poodle.

MEGAN MACLEAN

Megan qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2010. She worked in a busy private practice in South Queensferry before joining Edinburgh Gums and Teeth in July 2018. Megan enjoys all aspects of dentistry, with a focus on implant nursing and treatment coordinating. She is a very skilled and experienced nurse who always puts patients at ease with her friendly manner.

Outside of work Megan enjoys spending time with her family and their cocker spaniel Tess.

ABIGAIL ROBB

Abigail joined Edinburgh Gums & Teeth as a receptionist in 2017, being one of the first members of the team. During this time, she studied to be a dental nurse and qualified soon after. She very much enjoys building relationships with patients and seeing their dental journey through to fruition. Abigail prides herself in making patients feel at ease and strives to provide a comfortable and relaxed experience when visiting the practice.
At the weekends, Abigail can be found doing outdoor activities with her husband and young daughter. She has become a keen runner (thanks to lockdown!) and loves spending time with her friends and family.

I have been a dental nurse for 31 years and joined the friendly team at Edinburgh Gums and Teeth in November 2019.
I enjoy all aspects of dental nursing from dental health checks and hygiene to more complex treatments seeing the end result is always very satisfying especially the patients reaction to their final results. Talking to the patients and putting them at ease is a very important part of my job. I pride myself in doing the best job I can.

Outside of work I enjoy going on lovely sunshine holidays going to the theatre and meals out with my husband and socialising with my friends.
